Hi,
I was wondering how come CBOT big dow future price price for any month is taking forever to change price from one to another tick where cash Dow jones moved (up & down) every second… for example, I have been watching dow jones it changes (up & down) every minute but the dow jones ($25) future price is set @ 12794 for hours.is there any reason?

I’m writing a novel in which one character is a full-time futures trader, trading her own speculative account from her home after having traded professionally for a specialty mutual fund.

When I first started researching this book years ago, I visited some serious at-home traders who watched the markets at home with a satellite feed and called their orders in to a broker who then executed them at the CBOT…or whatever exchange.

Now the CBOT combines open outcry with a tandem electronic system. So would my trader still phone a broker to execute orders? Or would it be more efficient for her to execute those orders through her computer?

I started my career as financial analyst in a sub broker office at chennai – dealt with International commodity market (CBOT, NYMEX) for 2 years. Then I moved to manufacturing company – manufacturer of Activated carbon as commercial executive, dealt with US and China market – worked for 1.5 years. Currently I am in Auto component manufacturer co. as commercial officer. They have changed my profile and more often i deals with suppliers for price negotiation.

I love trade finance- Supply chain mgmt. I do not know how to move further in my career. End of the day, now I am mix of varieties. but no specific profile. How I have to rpesent myself and what should be my target. Friends says ERP helps me.
